Prop firms for US traders

20 of the 20 active futures prop firms on our list accept traders living in the United States; the state carve-outs and KYC rules are in the notes below. 2 of them are unverified and sit behind the toggle.

Every one of the 20 active futures prop firms on our list accepts traders who live in the United States, and 16 of them are based there. Futures prop firms sell simulated evaluation and funded accounts rather than brokerage accounts, so the rules that keep American traders out of most offshore forex prop firms do not apply here. The four firms based abroad take US residents too: Alpha Futures in the United Kingdom, FTMO Futures in Czechia, FundedNext Futures in the United Arab Emirates and Phidias Prop Firm in Gibraltar.

The fine print is in states and paperwork, not countries. FTMO Futures accepts US residents except in Arkansas, Delaware, Louisiana, Montana and South Carolina. Every firm runs KYC before the first payout, usually through its payout partner: you upload a government ID and proof of address, and E8 Markets decides your country from that document rather than from your IP address. Restriction is by residency at most firms, so a US resident trading from abroad keeps their account, while a resident of a restricted country cannot join by logging in from the US.

Payouts to a US bank are the norm. Rise is the most common payout method on this page, at 11 of the 20 firms, then wire at 8 and ACH at 7, with Wise, crypto, PayPal, Plane and Plaid behind them; the table below lists each firm's methods next to its home country. Payouts are taxable income: US-based firms generally send a 1099 for the year's withdrawals, and the money is yours to declare either way.

Prop firms for US traders FAQs

Q1

Can US traders join futures prop firms?

Yes. All 20 firms on our list accept traders living in the United States. Futures prop firms sell simulated evaluation and funded accounts, so they are not caught by the rules that keep most forex and CFD prop firms from taking American clients. A few firms carve out individual states; FTMO Futures excludes five.
Q2

Do US traders need to pass KYC?

Before the first payout, almost always. Firms verify identity through their payout partner before releasing money, and E8 Markets sets your eligible country from the KYC document rather than from where you log in. Buying an evaluation usually needs only a card.
Q3

How do US traders get paid?

Through the firm's payout partner, to a US bank account in most cases. Rise, wire and ACH are the three most common methods on this page; Apex Trader Funding, DayTraders and Tradeify use Plane, and five firms also pay in crypto. BluSky Trading Company and Funded Futures Network have plans with no minimum day count before a request, and the fastest payout prop firms list ranks all 20 firms by days to first payout.
