How the Prop Firm Finder ranks accounts
Every live account we track goes through the same steps. Nothing is ranked on a guess: an account with no price or size on file is left out.
- 01Trading style. Scalpers only see firms that allow scalping, news traders only firms that allow news trading. Never loosened.
- 02Funding route. Evaluation or instant funding, as you choose. Never loosened.
- 03Drawdown. End of day or static excludes intraday trailing drawdowns; static only keeps fixed floors. Never loosened.
- 04Account size and budget. Your size group and your all-in budget, with a 5% margin. Loosened only when fewer than three firms fit, and the card says so.
- 05Your priority. Lowest cost, fastest payout, easiest rules or highest payout cap decides the order (below).
What decides the order
- Lowest cost
- We sort by the all-in price, cheapest first: the evaluation after the best live discount code, plus any activation fee. A monthly account counts its first month. At the same price a one-time account goes ahead of a monthly one.
- Fastest payouts
- Fastest first payout weighs most (half the score): the days to pass plus the days until you can request a payout. Price, easy rules and payout cap count for the rest, with your trading style.
- Easiest rules
- Easiest rules weigh most (half the score): no consistency rule in the evaluation or once funded, an end of day or static drawdown, and no daily loss limit. Price, payout speed and payout cap count for the rest.
- Highest payout cap
- Highest payout cap weighs most (half the score): an uncapped payout scores best, then the largest cap per payout. Price, payout speed and easy rules count for the rest.
You see one account per firm, its best for your answers, and the top three firms. Accounts that fit every answer always come before ones that go over your budget or are another size. Ties go to the one-time account, then to the better fit on payout speed, rules and cap, then alphabetical order.
What all-in means
All-in is the evaluation price after the best live discount code, plus any activation fee you pay to get funded. It is the same figure our comparison board shows. A monthly evaluation counts its first month, so it holds only if you pass within that month; those cards say “first month”. Reset fees and data fees are not included.
How we make money
Some firms pay us a commission when you buy through our links. Partner status is not an input to the finder: partners and non-partners are ranked by the rules above, and no result carries a partner badge. Read our affiliate disclosure.
Which prop firm should I choose?
Start with the rule you cannot live with, not the price. A scalper at a firm that bans scalping, or a trader who hates trailing drawdowns at a firm with an intraday trailing one, loses the account however cheap it was. The finder applies those rules first, then sorts what is left by what matters most to you.
