How the card is scored

Five rounds, one point each. The account that wins the most rounds wins the card, and a level card goes to the cheaper account. A round without the numbers for both sides scores nobody and says so.

  1. Round 1

    Cost to get funded

The evaluation after the discount code, plus any activation fee charged when you pass. Lower wins.

    All-in price, explained
  2. Round 2

    Room to trade

The drawdown, the line that ends the account. Static beats end-of-day, which beats intraday trailing. Same kind? More room wins.

    Drawdown, explained
  3. Round 3

    Rules that can end it

A daily loss limit, a consistency rule to pass, one on payouts, and a payout buffer. Fewer wins.

    Consistency rule, explained
  4. Round 4

    Speed to first payout

Days to pass plus days to the first payout, counted the way each firm publishes them. Fewer wins.

    Payout cycle, explained
  5. Round 5

    Payday

The most one payout can put in your pocket: the payout cap times your split. More wins.

    Profit split, explained

Platforms, news rules and the rest depend on how you trade, so they are on every card for reference and never scored. Prices come from the same data as the board and the firm pages, so a number here always matches the rest of the site.

Prop firm rankings FAQ

Q1

Which futures prop firm is the best?

My Funded Futures has the best head-to-head record on our card right now, winning more matchups than any other firm when each is compared at the same account size with every discount applied. Take Profit Trader is next. The table above shows every firm's record and the round it wins most.
Q2

How do you compare two prop firms?

Put the same size of account from each firm side by side and check five things in order: what it costs to get funded, the drawdown, the rules that can fail the account, how soon you can get paid, and how much one payout can put in your pocket.
Q3

Is Topstep better than Apex Trader Funding?

Yes. On our card Topstep beats Apex Trader Funding when a matching account from each is compared, winning more of the five rounds. The Apex Trader Funding vs Topstep page shows every round and what each account is best for. It is the most searched matchup of all.
Q4

What matters most when choosing a prop firm?

The drawdown matters most, because it is the rule that ends most accounts: a line that only moves at the end of the day is far easier to live with than one that trails every tick. Those are the five rounds on every card here.
Q5

Which prop firm is cheapest to get funded?

The cheapest route changes with every promotion, so the board on our homepage sorts every account by its real all-in price: the evaluation after the discount code, plus any activation fee. Here, the cost round on each card compares that price for two accounts. Code SOPF works at most firms.
Q6

Which prop firm pays out the fastest?

The fastest payout prop firms list ranks every firm by the fewest days from buying an account to your first payout request, counted the way each firm publishes them. On a card here, the speed round compares the same thing for two accounts. Some firms count profitable days and others calendar days, so check which.
Q7

Why does the cheaper account win a tie?

When two accounts win the same number of rounds, the one that costs less to get funded takes the card, because most traders need more than one try and a cheaper account is cheaper to try again. If the prices are the same too, the card is a draw.
Q8

Are prop firm rankings biased?

Ours are not decided by who pays us: every card is scored by the same five rules on each account's published numbers, and the scoring is written out in full on this page. We do earn a commission when you buy through our links, which keeps the site free.
