Trading Rules

Consistency Rule

A cap on how much of your total profit can come from a single day, expressed as a percentage. It forces profits to be spread across multiple days.

OVER THE CAPDAILY PROFITS
Consistency rule: one day too large a share of profit

In plain English

A consistency rule stops one monster day from carrying an evaluation or a payout. With a 40 percent rule, no single day may account for more than 40 percent of your total profit at the time you pass or request a payout.

It usually does not fail the account; instead it delays you until more profitable days dilute the big one. Some firms apply it only in the evaluation, others to every funded payout, and the best accounts have none at all.

Worked exampleConsistency Rule
  1. You are up $2,000 total, $1,200 of it from Tuesday.
  2. That is 60 percent of profits from one day, so under a 40 percent rule you must keep trading until Tuesday is under 40 percent of the total, at $3,000 or more.
