Questions traders ask

Q1

Can I trade news at a prop firm?

It depends on the firm. Some allow it freely, some ban it outright, and many allow it with a blackout window around releases or only on certain accounts. Pick news trading above to see the answer for each live firm, with the details the firm publishes.
Q2

What does conditional mean in the rule checker?

Conditional means the answer is not a clean yes or no. The rule is allowed with limits, or it differs by account type. The details line under the verdict says which, so read it before you assume you are covered, especially for scalping and algo trading.
Q3

Which prop firms allow scalping?

Most allow some scalping, but many cap it with a minimum hold time or a ban on tick scalping, which makes them conditional rather than a flat yes. Choose scalping in the checker to see each firm's limit in its own words before you size a strategy around it.
Q4

Can I hold trades overnight or over the weekend?

Some firms require every position closed before the session ends, while others let you swing trade with limits. The overnight and weekend rule in the checker shows which is which. If you hold trades through the close, confirm the firm's flat-by time as well.
Q5

Are bots and algos allowed at prop firms?

Usually in part. Many firms allow semi-automated tools but ban fully automated bots, and some limit high frequency activity separately. Check the algo and high frequency rows together, because a strategy that passes one can break the other and cost you the account.
Q6

What happens if a rule differs by account?

Where a firm sets a different news rule on particular accounts, the checker lists those accounts under the firm's answer as an exception. Always check the rules page for the exact account you plan to buy, since the account-level rule is the one that counts.
Q7

What do the consistency and time limit rules mean here?

For consistency, time limit and inactivity, a yes means the rule applies to you, so a no is the answer most traders want. Consistency caps how much of your profit can come from one day. A time limit sets how long you have, and inactivity closes idle accounts.
Q8

How current are these rules?

We read them from each firm's published rules and update them when a firm changes something, but firms can edit rules without notice. Treat the checker as a fast first pass, then confirm the rule on the firm's own site before you buy or change how you trade.
