Accounts & Evaluations
Sim Funded Account
A funded account that runs on simulated capital. Your trades never reach the live market; the firm pays real payouts from its own revenue based on your simulated performance.
In plain English
Most modern futures funding is sim funded. The account you trade after passing is a simulator fed by live market data, and the firm honors your profits with real money. This lets firms fund far more traders than live capital would allow, which is why evaluations are so cheap.
The practical differences from live trading are small but real: fills can be slightly friendlier in sim, and the firm's risk is managed through rules rather than the market. Firms often move consistently profitable sim traders to live accounts later.
- A trader nets $5,000 in a sim funded account over two months.
- The firm pays their 90 percent share, $4,500, even though no live contracts were ever traded.
