Micro Contract
A futures contract one-tenth the size of the e-mini, like MES and MNQ. The standard sizing tool for smaller accounts and finer risk control.
In plain English
Micros let traders scale position size in tenths of a mini. MES moves $1.25 per tick and $5 per point, so a stop that would risk $250 on one ES risks $25 on one MES.
On prop accounts, micros are how you trade within tight drawdowns while a strategy proves itself, then scale toward the mini limit. Commissions per contract are proportionally higher on micros, which matters for scalpers.
- Risking 20 MES on a 10 point stop is $1,000 of risk, identical to 2 ES, but adjustable in $50 steps instead of $500 ones.
